What I Am Currently Reading
The Wells of Ascension
I’m only about 130 pages into it, and I’m really liking it. It starts off about a year after The Final Empire ended. What I’m loving about this book it shows us the unintended consequences of what happens after you do what you did in the last book. Very vague. I know, but read the first book and you’ll get what I mean.
The Lost Queen
I did not finish The Lost Queen by Signe Pike. Hoping I was, gonna finish The Lost Queen last weekend, but I didn’t finish it. So when I started last week, I had mentioned that I hope the aged our main character up. They totally aged her up, so that made me happy. And I figured out that this book starts her story from about the age of 11. They said 10 winters. So I figured it was 10 until about 30 ish.
So I am liking The Lost Queen. This story follows Languoreth. She is the twin sister of the man who inspired all of the Merlin stories. So this is Languoreth’s story, and this is the story about her and how she wanted to be a Wisdomkeeper. But she couldn’t be Winsdomkeeper because her role in her family was to marry, to create an Alliance so that she could keep her land and kingdom safe. Since there are two Wars starting up in this time period in this book. So this is, really intriguing. The pace is a little on the slow side. But it’s very political. It’s not like war battle action, but it’s political action. What I really love about this book is that when the main family is wronged, how they get their revenge or their justice. How they right the wrong pretty inventive, pretty freaking amazing.
So The Lost Queen I’m liking, but it’s also turning out to be more of historical fiction, more than it is a fantasy story. There’s very, very little magic in this story. I thought it was going to be more fantasy, but it’s not. It’s basically historical fiction with a tiny sliver of some, magic in the story. But still, it’s still pretty, pretty intriguing, pretty entertaining.
The Eye of the Worlds
Oh, I started the audiobook of The Eye of the Worlds by Robert Jordan. I just started it I’m at chapter six.
What I Plan to Read Next
When I finish The Lost Queen, I plan on picking up The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. So hopefully I’ll get, I’ll get to this next week. Yeah. I’m really excited to read this one. I’ve never read the book. The Neverending Story was like one of my favorite, favorite movies to watch and the book is always better. So I really interested to see how different the book is from the movie. If you’ve read the book and seen the movie comment below and let me know if you think the book is better than the movie, cause I’m really, really excited to get into this.
And the only thing that I got in the mail was The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. My favorite fairy tails.
